Jenny's Maternity Portrait

There is something very magical about photographing a new life and all that it touches. It is an honor for me to not only provide a gorgeous photograph of such an important moment in one's life but it makes me so happy to witness such joy.

Only a few weeks til her due date, Jenny looked radiant!

A beautiful portrait of her family.

My sweet assistant Lola, standing in as I check the location, lighting, and especially the pose.

Kristin + Paul - The Agave of Sedona

They were married on July 18th in Sedona at the Sedona Heritage Museum.

I love the absolute joy in this photograph. Suzanne Loo-McCoy of Intimate Sedona Weddings performed a beautiful wedding ceremony. And the views of Sedona's red rocks provided a gorgeous background for Kristin and Paul's wedding. Their lovely flowers were created by Bliss Extraordinary Floral in Sedona and their elegant event was designed by Rosalie's of Sedona.

A recessional kiss.

Paul with his adorable daughter Dayna, who was in the wedding party.

Kristin and her bridal party ... they took turns being giddy or teary through the whole day!

Kristin in her gorgeous gown.

More beautiful Sedona red rock views from the Sedona Heritage Museum.

Their beautiful rings!

A special gift created for them by Kristin's mother.

Kristin + Paul's reception was at the Agave of Sedona with more amazing Sedona red rock views and the most elegant colors, linens, and flowers.

The two families were so happy for Kristin + Paul and kept remarking that they had never seen them as happy as when they had found each other. Kristin is lovingly embraced by her mother with her husband Paul and her father watching.

Kristin with her grandmother. I love this moment!

Kristin's father had a surprise for Kristin that made the night even more emotional. He unveiled a sentimental photograph that was originally published in a newspaper of the two of them walking to school on a rainy day.

DJ Bobby Russell of Sedona Sounds kept the dance floor full all night and one of my favorite ways that he did so was with the "longest marriage" dance. Everyone who had been married more than 10 minutes got up on the dance floor to dance and slowly were eliminated until the couple who had been married the longest were left to dance alone. Kristin's grandparents were married 63 years. And when asked for advice as to the secret to a long and happy marriage, Kristin's grandfather's response was "Two words. Yes, dear."

Instead of a traditional cake, Kristin and Paul had a delicious desert table created by Rosalie's of Sedona. And Kristin and Paul fed each other chocolate covered strawberries. Now Bonnie is well-known for her spectacular cheese table, which Kristin and Paul also had, and I have to tell you that her desert table is just as mouth-watering and fabulous!

These were my favorite, little yummy cheese cakes.

Best wishes Kristin and Paul ... many, many fabulous and healthy years together! Congratulations.

Kiama

This photo shoot was so much fun!

As a fundraiser for Lola's school "Free to Be" in Sedona, I am doing portraits of the kids. And 100% of the sitting fee goes to the school.

Kiama is Lola's favorite and I can see why. She is so adorable and totally sparkles. One of the things I love about Kiama is that she loves greek olives.

Amber + Sterling

They were married on June 27th at Red Rock Crossing.

Their guests gracefully crossed Oak Creek on stepping stones to get to the ceremony. The procession even started with the creek crossing. I believe that it takes a courageous bride to cross the creek in a wedding dress without letting wedding jitters get in the way.

I'm always asked if I've ever witnessed anyone fall in the creek on the way to a wedding. It's only happened once. It was a grandmother of the bride, and she used the photograph on her Christmas cards that year because she thought it was hilarious.

Amber was escorted by her father.

Amber + Sterling had a big wedding for Red Rock Crossing. It is a gorgeous national park with the famous Cathedral Rock as the backdrop and the beautiful Oak Creek meandering through.

Pastor Ed Reyes of the Wayside Chapel of Sedona performed a beautiful ceremony.

During the recessional, Amber + Sterling's guests showered them with birdseed.

Birdseed ... it is a "green" alternative ... but it gets everywhere. There must have been a million little birdseeds in Sterling's hair, on Amber's beautiful face, in their clothes. It will make a really great wedding story that they will laugh about someday (hopefully) when their grandkids ask why they are covered in birdseed in their wedding photographs.

Crossing Oak Creek -- I love this photograph.

Ron rocked with these two portraits.

The way they kissed ... all I can say is that I hope every bride is kissed by her groom the way Sterling kissed Amber. He breathed her. It was very romantic, very passionate, and Hollywood couldn't ever do better.

Amber's bridal portrait in front of Cathedral Rock.

I love this portrait of Sterling and those COOL shoes. This has to be my favorite photo of 2009 so far.

Another reflection ... Amber + Sterling.

Amber's gorgeous ring.

Their reception was at The Agave Event Center of Sedona. The colors, the flowers, the red rock views ... gorgeous as always.

And a beautiful cake to end the night by the talented Sedona Sweet Arts. (It was yummy too.)

The Roby Family

The nicest family called me for a portrait. There were six adults and six kids from three different states (California, Illinois and Kansas) enjoying a family holiday in gorgeous Sedona to celebrate their parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary.

This is my favorite photo from the sitting... Barrett's family.
