Happy Halloween

Lola was a pink poodle for Halloween. We named her Fifi Lipman (after Ron's ex-girlfriend's poodle which I am totally okay with... really I am, really). Lola's grandma sent her costume all the way from Dallas.

In case you were wondering, Lola now has 8 teeth.

And in case you were wondering why I don't post more photos of Lola ... because they usually look like this ... Lola running away from my camera.

Talya's Family

Last week I spent the afternoon with Lola's friend Talya and her family at River Front Park.

I love this picture of Robert and Talya. It's almost as if Talya's hands are shaping Robert's smile.

Kim's sons joined us and we took some pictures by the Verde River.

Talya is so so cute, always smiling, and totally in love with her little dog (who she is chasing).

Terri + David

They were married on October 20th at L'Auberge de Sedona.

Terri being escorted to her wedding ceremony.

The view was spectacular at their "Hill Top" ceremony.

There are so many beautiful places to make portraits at L'Auberge. This one was requested by Terri -- she had lots of great ideas that I really appreciated.

Terri's beautiful bouquet is from Bliss Extraordinary Floral and the cross that Terri chose especially for her wedding is an important symbol and way of life for her and David.

The sunset that evening was beyond spectacular. Terri & David and their family and friends shared champagne toasts and delicious cakes, one from Sedona Cake Couture and a second that Terri made herself, amidst a beautiful red rock Sedona sunset.

Jessica + Chase

They were married before sunset on October 15th at Red Rock Crossing by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

Jessica looked gorgeous.

I love that she went barefoot!

Jessica and her bridesmaids cross Oak Creek during the procession.

The kiss.

More kissing. I love this photo -- Chase held Jessica for a long time so I was able to get a whole passionate series in front of Cathedral Rock.

Warning: I'm about to rant ... Wedding days don't always go smoothly, even after all the time spent dreaming and planning. I think people sometimes forget that weddings are supposed to be about the couple getting married. Jessica and Chase's wedding was delayed by family arriving late, they had unexpected (uninvited) guests, and while they were creating memories during their wedding portraits, they were being hurried and harried. It created a lot of unnecessary angst. It makes me even prouder of them and their beautiful, beautiful photographs because of the circumstances. End of rant.

I wish Jessica and Chase a long and wonderful partnership, friendship, and marriage. I hope their photographs remind them of the deep love that they have for each other.

Tammy + Eddie

They were married on October 15th at the Junipine Resort in Sedona amongst friends and family.

I love Tammy's expression as her beloved Eddie is waiting to escort her to their ceremony.

They brought their friends from Phoenix to serenade them with blue grass music. It was very cool and I was so sorry that my husband Ron wasn't there to enjoy his favorite kind of music on his birthday.

Rev. Andrew Murphy performed a lovely ceremony.

Junipine Resort is so pretty. It is in Oak Creek Canyon and has a beautiful creek running through it. We could hear the water during the ceremony, and we wanted to make sure we created some portraits near it too. I love the way Eddie is looking at Tammy in this photo.

Their beautiful cake was created by Sedona Sweet Arts, the perfect way to start a marriage in my opinion!

Clay's Family

In honor of Clay's recent first birthday, I spent a really fun afternoon chasing him around with my camera. And I enjoyed photographing his family too.

He is a beautiful, happy little boy.

I love this portrait of Sara and Jordan -- Clay's mom and big sister.

A fun family portrait.

I really love this photo because everyone's having a good time -- except maybe for Clay who just wants to run free -- but who can blame him.

Here is a more traditional portrait of this sweet family.

Nicole & Timothy

They were married on October 9th at my favorite L'Auberge de Sedona by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

Nicole's dad walks her down the aisle.

Their guests were Nicole's parents and grandfather and Timothy's adorable daughters.

Nicole looked radiant.

I loved Timothy's daughters. I hope that my Lola will be as funny and personable as these two.

Nicole's lovely bouquet is from Mountain High Flowers in Sedona.

After the ceremony, we took some pictures creekside.

It was a perfect October day!

I love how the whole family was engaged in the signing of the wedding license. It was such a nice family. Thanks for including me in your celebration!

Julie & Eduardo

They were married on October 6th after a very, very, very long courtship. I think they have already made it past two "seven year itches."

Their wedding was at Chicken Point, up the Broken Arrow Trail, and their guests were treated to a Pink Jeep Tour on the way to the ceremony and back. I think the bouncy yet fun ride was payback for how many times they were probably asked "when are you guys going to finally get married?"

Julie's dad waited to escort her to the ceremony. Her beautiful bouquet is from Mountain High Flowers.

Chicken Point is also a great location for hiking and mountain biking. (This guy wasn't invited to the wedding.) You can see Julie & Eduardo's guests waiting in the distance for the ceremony to begin.

Amidst spectacular scenery Rev. Susan Perry performed a beautiful ceremony.

I love this portrait Ron captured after the ceremony.

I love how Julie is barefoot, it was more her style than the shoes that matched her dress.

Heading back to their reception at the Heartline Cafe in West Sedona.

Everytime I see this picture of Ed's eyes I laugh out loud. If you could only see what we were driving down. I would have included some pictures of Julie's dad too but he kept his eyes closed for the ascent to Chicken Point.

Ed has a really loving and warm relationship with his mom. They were having a heartfelt moment at the Heartline.

This photograph sums up the whole wonderful wedding. Julie & Ed laughed and smiled the entire time. It's probably one of the best secrets for a long, happy, prosperous union! Oh, and their yummy cake, was from Sedona Sweet Arts. And, no, Julie didn't mush it in Ed's face.

A Great Note ...

This is an email that I wanted to share that totally made me happy. It means a lot to me when my photographs are beloved treasures! Traci, thanks for taking the time to stay in touch. Whenever I see dragonflies I think of you!

"I found your blog and wanted to shoot you an email. This is Traci, you shot my wedding to Kevin in May of 2006. Even though this is so random and late, I wanted to let you know I think about you often. I also show everyone who wants to see *and some who could care less* the AMAZING photos you took at our wedding. We were so blessed to have found you to shoot the wedding. Truly wonderful photography, and everyone says so! Thank you so much for being a part of our event."

Sandy + Jeff

They were married on September 29th at the beautiful L'Auberge de Sedona.

Sandy is escorted to her wedding by her son Jesse. They are descending from the Creek House.

This moment is during the signing of their marriage license. I love this photo!

It was so nice to see their two families really enjoy the celebration ... not even complaining about the family portrait. It really says a lot about Jeff & Sandy and the way everyone is excited about their marriage.

The two of them are ageless together!

Autumn at L'Auberge is beautiful. The setting is really romantic and they looked absolutely gorgeous together!

Sandy and Jeff never stopped smiling ... from the moment I arrived to photograph everyone getting ready together at the Creek House until Ron & I said goodnight. I love that!

Happy Birthday Mama

It's about a month late, but Mama requested a photo of Lola for her birthday. I don't think it's what she expected -- Harley biker girl with a mohawk -- but a good friend of ours, Genie, bought Lola this cute jacket and I owed her a photo too!
