Lisa + Nick

This is a very cool couple that aspires to change the world by helping others! They were married on Father's Day, June 17th, at the Sedona Golf Resort. Before their wedding ceremony, we were at Tlaquepaque for portraits.

I've heard this referred to as the Tunnel of Love but I feel kind of corny saying it.

This is next to the Chapel at Tlaquepaque.

Lisa looked absolutely elegant.

After their ceremony at the Sedona Golf Resort, the light was perfect so we took more portraits. And I have to tell you that Lisa knew exactly the poses she wanted and created them for me. Nick was a great partner and a willing model.

This photograph is amazing!

They are off to Hawaii for their honeymoon :) Congratulations!

Grazie!

I just received this awesome note from Simona & Eli. Ron and I photographed their wedding on May 27th at Rancho Los Lagos in Sedona.

"Thank you again for giving us the pleasure of working with you on our wedding day. Your warmth, professionalism, and love of your art put us at ease and produced a series of beautiful, natural photographs. We love them! Best wishes to you and Ron. May your love for each other and your work together be equally fruitful."

Here is a link to their photographs! Thanks Simona and Eli!

Good Medicine

Lucy & Bruce were married on June 16th at the Tlaquepaque Chapel in Sedona. They met at a hospital where Bruce was working as an emergency room doctor and Lucy was a nurse. A few days before their wedding, Lucy finished her second year of medical school where she is now studying to be a doctor.

I love the expression on Lucy's son's face as they get ready at El Portal in Sedona.

They decorated the altar with a beautiful box with hearts containing their rings. The candles behind the box were lit as a memorial to those they love. Their ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

Every so often you totally fall in love with a couple because their love and happiness at being together is so contagious. Lucy was glowing during their vows.

Bruce was so animated and silly and giddy and funny.

I think they'd appreciate this picture more of Bruce during the ceremony.

This photograph in the Tlaquepaque Chapel is with Lucy's mom on the left, Lucy's son, and Lucy's godparents, who've been married for fifty years! Lucy's son chose not to be in a lot of pictures. He preferred to stand next to me and make funny faces at his family so they'd smile at the camera. Cool kid!

After the ceremony, we went to Red Rock Crossing for portraits. I love this moment! And then they celebrated their marriage with their family at Rene's at Tlaquepaque in Sedona.

Elizabeth + Gregg

Elizabeth and Gregg were married on June 14th at Tlaquepaque.

Before the ceremony, Elizabeth was given a card by Gregg. She shared a tearful moment with her mom as they read the card. Elizabeth said that Gregg is always romantic. (So lucky!)

I love this portrait of Elizabeth and Gregg's parents. Their families were so supportive and happy for their marriage! I mentioned to Elizabeth that I was so touched by how expressive her kids were towards her. It was beautiful to see.

Elizabeth is escorted into the chapel by her twin sons Matthew and Andrew. Laura Lane of Sacred Unions performed the ceremony.

One of the twins (the greatness of being identical) photographed most of the ceremony in the Tlaquepaque Chapel on his cell phone.

Elizabeth's daughter Melissa has an unbelievable voice and sang at both the ceremony and the reception. She is a student at Northern Arizona University.

Elizabeth and Gregg's reception was at the Patio de las Companas at Tlaquepaque. Rosalie's of Sedona created the delicious food and ambiance. The beautiful flowers are from Mountain High Flowers. And Sedona Sweet Arts provided the cake.

Joanna + Mark

They both recently graduated -- Joanna from Northern Arizona University and Mark from the Naval Academy at Annapolis. They've known each other since high school. Joanna & Mark were married in Sedona at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on June 8th. They had a candlelight ceremony.

We spent an hour before their wedding creating their beautiful wedding portraits at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona. Their wedding party was amazing with all but one of Mark's classmates going into the Navy. The gentleman on the far right will be a marine.

I love the way that Mark is looking at his bride.

Joanna worked so hard to keep her dress perfect for her wedding ceremony. It was definitely challenging with the red rocks and Oak Creek.

They will be moving to Austin so that Mark can start graduate school before his assignment on a nuclear submarine. Good luck!

Bastille Day

July 14th is French Independence Day. Why do I know that? Am I a member of Mensa? (Yeah, right). Am I addicted to Trivial Pursuit? (Never). Bastille Day is also my birthday. More importantly it is Kelly's due date for the birth of her third son.

I photographed Kelly at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona.

Doesn't she look amazing!

While we draped her with fabric, a couple of tourists walked by and started to take pictures of her ... like she was the Sedona vortex for fertility :) It didn't bother Kelly at all but I was completely surprised and reacted in a way that tried to be protective of her privacy. It is kind of silly in retrospect since Red Rock Crossing is the most photographed location in Arizona!

Married in Flip Flops

Brandie & Scott secretly eloped on June 7th to Red Rock Crossing in Sedona.

The beautiful ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

Ron and I felt a kinship towards them as we were also married in flip flops. Ron was definitely envious though that Scott wore shorts to his wedding.

I love the timelessness of black & white photography. Ron photographed this beautiful portrait.

It was the perfect summer's day!

Checkmate

After five years of playing chess together, Whe & Jeremy were married on June 4th at Tlaquepaque in Sedona by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

I loved how Whe was under her veil. She is being escorted into the chapel by her father.

This moment made everyone laugh. The ringbearer did a great job delivering the rings but they were tied too tight onto the pillow. It took about five minutes to remove them and at least four people tried.

Ron took this funny candid of Whe while we were photographing the formal portraits.

I love this portrait of Jeremy & Whe right outside the chapel.

Christina + Kris

This was a super fun wedding on June 2nd that started in Flagstaff and continued in Sedona.

Uncle Tony and his kids did a great job decorating the getaway vehicle!

Ron thought it would be cool to photograph their rings on the tree stump because the (tree's) rings show its age and we liked the symbolism.

Christina's shoes were monogrammed with their initials :)

They were married in the most beautiful church. It is the Church of the Nativity in Flagstaff, dating back to 1930, and Linda, the church wedding coordinator, was really a pleasure to work with.

I love this moment. I think everyone should have bubbles at their wedding!

Their reception was at Tlaquepaque in Sedona.

Usually Christina is smiling and joking around, but Ron & I love this dramatic portrait of her.

They had dinner and dancing at Tlaquepaque's Patio De Las Campanas. Rosalie's of Sedona created the great atmosphere and delicious food! The beautiful cake was created by Sedona Sweet Arts. And the hip Bobby Russell kept everyone dancing.

Annie + Jayson

After an eight year courtship, Annie & Jayson traveled from Minnesota with their families to get married on May 31st at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew Murphy.

The wedding processional included the bride, her bridesmaids, and flower girls walking across Oak Creek.

Their daughter Darya was adorable!

They are announced as husband and wife.

I love this portrait!

Simona + Eli

Simona & Eli were married on May 27th at beautiful Rancho Los Lagos in Sedona. Their ceremony was both tearful and funny. Their grandmothers were the flower girls and Eli's grandfather was the ring bearer.

I love this moment as they have just become husband and wife.

They are so sexy together! That is Cathedral Rock in the background.

I loved this portrait too. It feels timeless.

Their reception was lakeside at sunset. The delicious food and beautiful atmosphere was created by Rosalie's of Sedona. I always look forward to weddings they produce!
