Happy Anniversary

Michael & Linda have the coolest tradition. Each year for their anniversary, they visit a different state to renew their vows. Michael surprises Linda with the location. Last year they celebrated their anniversary on a hot air balloon in Napa, California and this year they celebrated their eleventh anniversary in Sedona!

Rev. Carla Riedel performed the ceremony, which included smudging, and her beautiful dress is also the one that she herself was married in.

Michael & Linda did a sand ceremony. They used four colors. Two represented their two sons, who were visiting their grandmothers.

I love this moment.

After the ceremony, Michael & Linda had a champagne toast that we all got to enjoy including Rev. Carla's husband Rick and my husband Ron. What a perfect way to watch the sunset, by the creek at Red Rock Crossing with a glass of champagne and three couples very much devoted to love and partnership!

Merry Go Round

Dina and I decided to photograph her bridal portraits at Merry Go Round in Sedona, the location of her 3rd infamous date with her husband Eric. The number 3 is a lucky one for them, the reason that they were recently married on March 3rd at Poco Diablo in Sedona. It might have been a touch unusual to photograph the bride after the wedding but we were looking for any good excuse to see that gorgeous dress again :)

Cornville Cowgirl

One of the most challenging parts of being a photographer is managing grandparent expectations. They want professional portraits of their grandchild often ... everyday would be ideal :) But who can blame them! So here is a photo of Lola, almost 10 months old, ready for the pony that she'll soon be begging them for :)

Phoebe + James

Phoebe and James were married by Rev. Andrew Murphy on May 18th at the Sedona Creative Life Center and then were photographed at beautiful Red Rock Crossing. With the majestic Cathedral Rock in the background, photographing alongside Oak Creek is a spectacular place to be.

This is one of my favorite portraits of all time at Red Rock Crossing.

Ron made this beautiful image of the two of them. Ron is wonderful at shooting elegant close-ups. Phoebe's beautiful bouquet was created by Mountain High Flowers.

I asked James to do something silly to make Phoebe laugh. So he said, "Phoebe laugh," and she did.

I love this moment!

Phoebe was so much fun to photograph. She could be sultry one minute and funny the next.

After a limo ride to the Amara Resort for their reception, we wandered down to the creek for a few minutes.

... and the bride danced all night

First with her husband Jim,

Then with her dad,

Then with her brother,

Then with her great nephews,

and so on and so on and so on. It was a night to rival "dancing with the stars" in both talent and jubilance! It was a fun way to celebrate after their ceremony at the Chapel at Tlaquepaque and before their delicious dinner catered by Rosalie's of Sedona.

The dancing was accompanied by Jeanie Carroll, both singing and spinning. One of my favorite parts of the evening was the dedication of a song, specially picked for the couple invited onto the dance floor. It was a perfect gift from the wedding couple, Jim + Kathy, who shared their love of dancing with all their guests and invited them into their new life together.

The sign at the Agave should have said, "and dance your heart out!"

Isabel + Mark

After knowing each other for eighteen years, Isabel & Mark were married at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village in Sedona.

Isabel really wanted candid portraits of her family. I think this is a cute one with her parents.

Isabel was escorted into the Tlaquepaque Chapel by her father. Her mantilla veil was stunning and inspired by her Spanish mother. Ron photographed this beautiful moment. You might see it in a commercial filmed at Tlaquepaque.

This Tlaquepaque pathway reminded them of Spain.

On their way to cocktails and hors douvres on the Terrace of the Patio del Norte, afterwards a reception in La Sala de los Milagros with music by Rafael Rosas.

Los Abrigados did the mouthwatering catering. The exquisite flowers were by Angelic Grove, friends of the couple. I wish I had more time to photograph all the details because the atmosphere was gorgeous!

The cake was a beautiful Sedona Sweet Arts creation.

Bell(y) Rock

This evening I photographed my midwife Paula belly dancing on Bell Rock in Sedona. It was the ultimate Sedona experience. Paula brought music to dance to and danced for me as the sun descended behind the mountains. She looked so beautiful! In the distance I could see my husband Ron hiking with our baby Lola and our dog Elvis. My heart was so full of love for my family and for Paula -- who brought Lola into this world!

Cinco de Mayo

I celebrated the day with Kristin & Alfie at Los Abrigados in Sedona.

Kristin's mom created these bracelets for Kristin and her bridesmaids.

I love spontaneous moments like these where they forget about my camera!

Kristin has a lot of style, inside and out!

All Kristin & Alfie's guests were saying they are soulmates!

This moment brought tears to everyone's eyes during the mother/daughter dance.

This moment was hilarious. It started out as a traditional mother/son dance to slow music and turned into the most awesome performance between two great dancers and their zeal for life!
